ECS handles the communications component of Web services with its built-in HTTP server. This HTTP server is a specialized "Web server" that constantly listens for incoming connections and synchronously responds to posted data based on its content.

Delta translates the XML messages that are exchanged in Web services, using Web-service-specific features and functions to package and unpackage the encapsulation layers used by common business frameworks such as ebXML, RosettaNet, and ACORD. Delta also makes real-time web service requests, allowing you to use the data provided by the called web service during your mapping operations.
