Web Services Toolkit
The dynamic duo of Softshare Delta Enterprise and Softshare ECS becomes a terrific trio when you throw the Web Services
Toolkit into the mix. This add-on component is a collection of advanced product features, documentation, and tutorials that highlight how
to best use Delta and ECS to bring your Web services solutions to life.
Business Framework Tutorials
The Web Services Toolkit includes a set of four Web service implementation tutorials, supporting the following XML messaging formats:
- ACORD
- ebXML
- RosettaNet
- A generic XML messaging format
Each tutorial consists of the following components:
- Delta maps and models that highlight the messaging format (either ACORD, ebXML, RosettaNet, or a generic XML format)
- XML schemas or DTDs used to define and validate the structure of exchanged XML messages
- Sample sending and receiving trading partners with preconfigured document identifiers
- Sample data
- A step-by-step tutorial guide that describes how to set up the maps, models, and other business components included with the tutorial and use them to execute sample business cases in Delta and ECS
- Access to a test HTTP server maintained by Softshare to exchange XML messages and test the full range of delivery and response features for your Web service
XML Security Features
Installing the Web Services Toolkit enables a number of security-related features for XML source and target models in Delta.
These features include digital signing and encryption for outgoing XML data and authentication and decryption for incoming data,
and are supported by the addition of new signature block, signature point, and encryption point components in XML models.
Full documentation of these security features is included in the toolkit as well as sample maps and models that highlight
the XML security features.
Security Functions
When the Web Services Toolkit is installed, additional Delta security functions become available. These functions provide
native support for digital signatures, integrity checks, and data encryption via public-key cryptography and can be
adapted to fit common messaging security. Full documentation of these security functions is included in the toolkit.
Support
Included with the Web Services Toolkit are four hours of Softshare professional services support, to be used in
15-minute-or-more increments during the first 365 days following the toolkit purchase.
