Softshare Vista 3.0 Release
Softshare is proud to announce the release of Vista 3.0, the next generation of Softshare’s sophisticated desktop EDI/XML solution, Softshare Vista. Here are just a few of the highlights of this release:
- Corporate firewalls are no problem for Vista 3.0, which lets you exchange transactions with Softshare’s VAN using Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) rather than the more traditional, and potentially firewall-blocked, SMTP/POP3 mail exchange protocols. Communicating via HTTP also lets you perform communications sessions through your corporate proxy server, and Vista Professional users can even secure their sessions using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.
- A brand new trading partner kit technology, XForms, provides new features for creating and editing EDI documents, including document preview and save options and more complete document history tracking. In addition, a new auto-update feature lets Vista check for updated versions of each XForms trading partner kit you have installed and automatically download them to your Vista account—all behind the scenes and without any intervention from you!
- Trading partner manager (TPM), a sophisticated module for storing information about the businesses with which you exchange business documents, is now available in Vista Standard as well as Vista Professional.
- Advanced EDI tracking features enable Vista Professional to detect and highlight duplicate EDI interchanges and avoid processing them as original documents.
Vista 2.0 users can upgrade to Vista 3.0 free of charge from the product updates area of eService or request an upgrade CD from Softshare Sales ($25 charge).
