Softshare ECS 5.0 is Just Around the Corner

Softshare ECS 5.0 is just a few weeks away! This new version of ECS will have many enhancements including a more document-centric view in Data Administrator, tracking of related batches and documents, and the ability to connect event rule criteria with "OR" operators (in addition to currently supported "AND" operators). But probably the most exciting enhancement to ECS 5.0 is the WebECS module.

WebECS, an optional component that will ship with ECS 5.0, lets you manage various aspects of ECS from the Web—or even a cell phone. The same ECS client utilities that you access locally from your desktop will be available as parallel Web utilities in the WebECS interface.

WebECS supports commonly-used browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox via the HTTP or HTTPS protocol. In addition to providing ultimate accessibility to the ECS server, WebECS also takes advantage of typical Web design hyperlinks to provide easy navigation between utilities and related data elements.

ECS 5.0's current release date is scheduled for early November. You'll be hearing more from us as soon as it's available.
