Sneak Peek at Softshare ECS 5.0

The month of September, which annually ushers in a frenzy of back-to-school activity and, perhaps, more importantly, the end of the white-wearing season, will bring with it another signficant milestone this year. September 2006 is the scheduled release date for Softshare ECS 5.0.

ECS' 5.0 debut will have many enhancements including a more document-centric view in Data Administrator, tracking of related batches and documents, and the ability to connect event rule criteria with "OR" operators (in addition to currently supported "AND" operators). But, by far, the most exciting enhancement to ECS 5.0 is the WebECS module.

As the name implies, WebECS is an online version of our Windows-based client utility. Once installed and configured, you'll be able to use the WebECS interface to log into the ECS server from any computer with Internet access. In addition to providing ultimate accessibility to the ECS server, WebECS also takes advantage of typical Web design hyperlinks to provide easy navigation between utilities and related data elements.

That's all we're telling for now. You'll have to wait until September for the rest of the scoop!
