Are unwanted ECS logs bogging down your Log Viewer utility? Considering that ECS' Log Viewer utility stores a detailed record, or log, of every system event initiated and tracked by ECS, it’s not surprising that you may find some of these logs irrelevant to your business environment. And while the settings provided on the filter bar in the Log Viewer utility are useful for temporarily filtering out unneeded log entries, there are times when it is more appropriate to prevent them from being logged altogether.
The ability to permanently suppress certain types of log entries was added in build 52 of ECS 3.0. This filter management feature lets you suppress log entries based on keywords, phrases, or specific log attributes such as severity or context value. For detailed instructions on how to use this filter management feature and lighten the daily load of your Log Viewer utility, visit the Softshare Knowledge Base article titled “Suppressing Unwanted Log Viewer Entries” on Softshare eService.
