New Versions of Softshare Delta and ECS Add Support for Web Services and XML-Based Business FrameworksSanta Barbara, CAAugust 16, 2004 Softshare Inc., a provider of e-commerce products and services, announced availability today for its 4.0 suite of e-commerce software. Officially released today, Softshare Delta® 4.0 and Softshare ECS© 4.0, when run in tandem, support Web services and XML business frameworks such as ebXML, RosettaNet, BizTalk, ACORD, SOAP (versions 1.1. and 1.2), and SOAP with Attachments. Softshare ECS, Softshare's electronic commerce server, ships with an integrated HTTP server and client implementations. This allows ECS to become a business application that fully participates in Web services, sending automated requests to a service at a given URL over HTTP and then collecting the real-time responses. ECS can, of course, also respond to Web Service requests and provide synchronous responses. While ECS acts as the communications platform for Web services, Softshare Delta is the content data translation tool. Because most Web service requests and responses are written in XML, the 4.0 version of Delta is extensible to recognize and translate SOAP or any other business framework a company may use to govern the XML data it is exchanging. Delta's sophisticated business framework tools let users wrap or unwrap any type of data encapsulated within business frameworks. "This new release of our key integration products is quite exciting because we attack Web services deployment in a completely different manner than most other products on the market," said Frank Gott, President and CEO of Softshare. "A large degree of the Web services usage that we're seeing revolves around business data integration issues and using tools designed for that purpose makes more sense than having to create something unique from the ground up. Our customers can easily transition from EDI to Web services without having to learn new tools which allows them to remain focused on their key business issues."
