HIPAA
Softshare is hip to HIPAA, the Health Insurance and Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. Our integration software provides everything you need to create and exchange HIPAA-compliant EDI transactions with your Payer or Provider.
Softshare is not a clearinghouse. Instead, we give you the tools to perform your own in-house translation and secure communications. Our HIPAA solution consists of three components:
- Softshare Delta (data translation software)
- Softshare ECS (electronic communications server)
- HIPAA Starter Pack
Softshare Delta
Softshare Delta is Softshare's sophisticated data translator. It supports conversions between EDI and data file formats (such as the UB92 claim form) as well as EDI conversions to and from XML, database, and text formats.

Softshare ECS
Softshare ECS is Softshare's electronic communications server. ECS is responsible for moving data across your enterprise and trading partner community. Its tight integration with Delta turns both the exchange and integration of HIPAA data into one cohesive operation. Fluent in a wide variety of data transfer protocols and standards, ECS supports the secure communications protocols that HIPAA advocates including FTP with PGP, SFTP, and AS2.
