Softshare is Hip to HIPAA

Softshare is very hip to HIPAA, the Health Insurance and Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. We provide everything you need to create and exchange HIPAA-compliant EDI transactions with your Payer or Provider.

Softshare is not a clearinghouse. Instead, we give you the tools to perform your own in-house translation and secure communications. Our HIPAA solution consists of three components: a data translator (Softshare Delta), a set of predefined models and maps (HIPAA Starter Pack), and a communications application (Softshare ECS).

Softshare Delta

Softshare Delta is Softshare's sophisticated data translator. It supports conversions between EDI and electronic data file formats (the two major formats required for HIPAA compliance) as well as conversions to and from XML, database, and text formats.

HIPAA Starter Pack

With the HIPAA Starter Pack, you are able to save a considerable amount of time modeling the required HIPAA ANSI X12 transactions in Softshare Delta. The HIPAA Starter Pack includes two complete sets of predefined models; one set is compliant with the original 004010 implementation guides and the other set is compliant with the Addenda.

Softshare ECS

Softshare ECS is a server-based communications application that works closely with Softshare Delta. It supports today's prevalent Internet communication protocols, moving HIPAA data into, out of, and across your enterprise in real time. Softshare ECS incorporates standard security protocols such as secure FTP and AS1.
